Surprise as Henderson and backroom staff step down from the helm at Bray Emmets

john-henderson-2It has been announced that Bray Emmets hurling manager John Henderson and his back room staff are to step down from their role at Bray Emmets hurling club.

Bray completed a three-in-a-row of senior county championships when they beat Carnew in a replay in October.

The following statement was issued by Bray Emmets GAA club

“On behalf of, Bill Maher, Liam Kenny, Olan Savage, and Myself,

I would like to take this opportunity to let you Know that we have decided to step down after completion of our 3-year term, in the role.

I would like to thank all the people behind the scenes who helped in any way over the period, to Joe Barnes and Colm McDonagh who were superb Kit and logistics men; Cameron McKeever  the physio; to the many hurley carriers as well and to Brenda, Anne, Debbie, Francis and others who kept the kitchen going over that period.

To Pat Lee, Michael O Byrne and Jackie Napier in their support roles, Anne Healy and Dermot O Brien and Liam McGraynor and the club management, for all their support, to the Vocal and colourful supporters who followed us everywhere we went, we thank you greatly and I know that we have shared many lifelong memories together,

Last but not least to all the players for achieving so much to date and who continue to write history every time they take the field, I hope they go on to achieve their full potential, both on and off the pitch.

I finish off as I started reminding everyone of the words on our famous club banner written and crafted so many years ago, it is as relevant now as it was then.”

‘’United we stand divided we fall’’
