Phone users are being warned of a scam said to originate from Somalia.
The calls which are understood to have started yesterday are capable of clearing your credit or adding large amounts to a monthly bill.
Users are being urged not to answer or call a number with the pre-fix 00252.
A call from this code will ring for a number of seconds and then stop.
If by chance you receive a call from this number, let it ring out and do not call back.
There is no charge incurred when people answer calls from these numbers, only when they call back and the longer someone stays on the phone the higher the charge will be.
Numbers have been used are +252 70100074 and +252 99612249.
