Average house price for 3 bed semi in Wicklow on a par with Dublin

East Coast FM report the price of a three bed semi detached home in Wicklow is now the same as Dublin, according to a MyHome.ie property report.

The price of the most popular house type in Wicklow, the 3 bed semi, rose by 7.55% in the final quarter of 2016 to €285,000, the same as Dublin and the highest price in the country for this house type.

The price 4 bed semis in the county rose by a more modest 3% to €360,000. Up 4.35% on this time last year.

According to the MyHome dot ie property report in association with Davy released yesterday, house price inflation is set to accelerate further this year to 8%, driven by the economic recovery and other factors.

The report warns that the combined impact of the Help to Buy scheme which came into effect yesterday and looser lending rules means a double digit rise house prices in a real possibility in 2017.
