TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday Jan 29 the walk will be at Ballinaogue Tinahely, (Grade B, 10km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.30. On Sunday Feb 5 the walk will be at Rathdrum/Avondale, (Grade B/C, 10km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.00, Rathdrum 10.30.

Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

Ballyellis National School Enrolment Forms

Enrolment forms are now available for anyone wishing to enrol their child in Ballyellis National School in September 2017.  Please phone the school on 0539426159 or call into the office to collect enrolment form.

MODEL EXHIBITION

The annual model exhibition of tractors, cars, farms, air craft, models, teas, cake stall, tombola and much more will take place on Sunday 5th February from 11am in Colaiste Bhride Carnew admission adults €5 children free, in aid of the three local schools, all welcome.

BINGO

The next bingo is on Sunday 29th January at 2.30pm in St Brigid’s Hall, Carnew, many thanks to everyone for their support to date.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the GAA lotto numbers were 13,16,26,28, lucky dips were Counter crew, c/o Jim Byrne. Teresa O’Rourke, c/o Trevor Gilligan. Laura Doyle, Kilcavan. Una and Pa c/o James Doran, the next draw is 30th January in The Lodge, Carnew, tickets €2 from any player or local shop.

LITTLE ACORNS PLAYSCHOOL AND AFTER SCHOOL

Little Acorns Playschool will hold their AGM on Monday 6th February from 7.30pm – 8.30pm in the playschool. Spaces are limited and our numbers are filling up quickly, so be sure to secure a place for your child/children for the 2017/18 school year. Contact the manager Eileen on 0539423871.

CARNEW DAY CENTRE MINDFULNESS

Carnew Day Centre Mindfulness course will commence on Monday 6th February from 2-4pm for 8 weeks, contact 0539426510 for more details.

SPLIT THE POT

The winner of Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew Split the Pot was Hannah Rosney winning €271.50, tickets are available from the school and local shops at €2.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Maureen Murphy, nee Jordan, Coolafancy who died during the week and was buried on Saturday in Coolafancy cemetery. 

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Jack Doyle, Umrigar on winning the minor hurler of the year award and was presented with his award on Saturday night in The Arklow Bay Hotel and to all the recipients on their awards, especially John Timmins on getting the club person of the year award. Well done all.

TABLE QUIZ

There is a table quiz on Friday 3rd February in Kenny’s Carnew at 8.30pm, table of four €40, prizes 1st €100, 2nd €60, 3rd €40, raffle on the night with a huge number of lovely prizes, cone along and make up a table for a great nights entertainment and craic, the show will be held this year on 15th July, all support welcome. All proceeds towards Carnew Agricultural Show Society.

LYPSYNC CONCERT

Some tickets are still on sale for the LypSync concert on this Saturday 28th January in Gorey, all welcome to come along.
