Former 2FM & Spin 1038 DJ extraordinaire Nikki Hayes is rejoining the radio station where it all began for her!
Aged 18 Nikki kick started her broadcasting career on East Coast FM and quickly moved on to hit music station Spin 1038. From there she was snapped up by RTE 2FM where she worked for 8 years before returning to Spin in more recent times.
When the long term presenter of East Coast FM’s youth driven show ‘On Demand’, Paul Byrne resigned to join Clare FM, station CEO Ciara O’Connor knew exactly who she wanted to take over the microphone!
“We’re delighted to have Nikki back on the airwaves on East Coast FM. Nikki knows us and she knows Wicklow given Bray is her hometown. She has a real understanding of the audience she’ll be talking to and I’m very much looking forward to working with her in the future”
Nikki says of coming back ‘home’ “I’ve always had a huge fondness for East Coast FM and the people working there. I consider them my family and I can’t wait to get back on the airwaves doing what I love in a station I hold dear to my heart”.
East Coast On Demand is broadcast Monday to Thursday 7pm – 10pm on East Coast FM and Nikki starts Monday the 30th January.
Nikki is now married to Frank Black and together they have a 3 year old daughter Farah.
Later this year Nikki releases her debut book, being published at the end of the summer for Mercier Press. A strong advocate for mental health Nikki continues her work for a better mental health service across the country.
