Active Retirement
The annual general meeting was very well attended by a record number of members. Our re-elected Hon. Chairperson, Margaret Brady, congratulated the new committee, although only one new member was elected. Margaret urged members to think about putting their names forward for election in 2018. She then outlined activities planned for this year. Chair Yoga continues each Tuesday. Interested members are reminded that the showing of Sleeping Beauty, will take place at the Omniplex in Gorey, on Tuesday February 28th.
Market

Community Games
Community Games season has started with our athletics training for the cross country and mixed distance which is been held on Monday 27th in Avondale. A busy weekend for our local children in team events. Sadly our U11 and U14 Tag Rugby teams who met Westside in Donard GAA grounds for the County final in Wicklow lost out with Westside winning and gong ahead now to Leinster Kick off was at 4pm. They were entertaining games. On Sunday our U15 Boys team go to Roundwood for the County Badminton finals and playoffs start there at 3pm. Good luck to you all and enjoy the experience. The County quiz takes place on Friday March 24th in Annacurra community hall. Four U 14 teams from each area can enter.
Foroige Youth Club
Our opening night Friday evening went down very well. Thank you very much to Aughrim and Annacurra National Schools for letting us go into the 6th. classes to talk to the boys and girls. A huge thank you to Aughrim Sports Complex Committee for the use of the Coffee Dock.

A new adult course will commence on Monday morning February 27th at 9.40-10.40. am. This five week course will take place every Monday morning on the two wonderful indoor courts at Aughrim Sports complex where the weather is never an issue. The course caters for all levels, from starter, restarter to social recreational level. Previous playing experience may be a slight advantage but please don’t be put off joining if you have never played before. Places are limited to 8 adults so reserving a place in advance is essential. The numbers:10, 22, 24 and 26 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday February13th. The jackpot was not won. There were no match three winners. The jackpot is €6300.
