Caution advised as temperatures drop

Motorists are being advised to take extra caution on the roads tonight.

With roads already flooded and temperatures expected to drop below minus zero this evening, driving conditions are expected to be treacherous.

Snow has already fell on higher grounds around the county.


Any lingering rain along eastern fringes will clear and it will be dry in most parts apart from an isolated shower. Winds will become light to moderate southwesterly in direction. A cold night with lowest air temperatures of -2 to +2 Celsius, with frost and icy conditions.


Dry and bright on Saturday with a few showers developing in the afternoon, some of the showers turning locally heavy by evening. Highest temperatures of 7 or 8 Celsius. Winds light to moderate southwest in direction.
