Yarn Bombing
There is an information session in Meitheal on Wednesday 1st
March at 10am and Friday 3rd March at 3pm. Dressing trees up in yarn, knitted, crocheted or pompoms. Not a fundraising event. A COMMUNITY event. So as many people as possible. The aim of this community project is to decorate the town for the week of the Arts Festival. Google ICA yarn bombing Newbridge. If people would like to donate wool or needles or volunteer to do the knitting etc. Please come along and get involved in this exciting projects.
Farmers Market
Is anybody interested in a Farmers Market in Dunlavin? Once a month. No trading allowed, only own grown, own made items. Please speak to Jeannie in Meitheal. Feedback welcome as to whether people would support this.
Auction
The annual GAA auction will take place on March 4th at 9pm in Dunlavin Inn. Bargains galore.
Car Boot Sale
A car boot sale will take place on Sunday March 5th 2017 in the Imaal Hall from 9.30 am to 2pm.. Stalls cost €15 , tables will be provided. To book a table contact Elaine on 045 403319 or 0876293923 or Willie on 045 401425 or 0857268024. Tea , Coffee and toilet facilities will be available. Proceeds go to the Imaal Hall. Stalls limited to 20.
Church Shop – We now have a lovely selection of items in stock including Confirmation and Communion cards, rosettes, rosary beads, necklaces and pins. All items are available from the Church and the parish office at very competitive prices.
Dunlavin Arts Festival 2017 – a meeting to commence organising the Arts festival will take place on Saturday 4th March 1.30pm in Dunlavin Inn. Anyone wishing to get involved is welcome to come along. The committee are always seeking new ideas. The festival takes place June 16th, 17th and 18th 2017.
Beginners Jive Lessons – in the Imaal Hall at 8pm every Monday nights. No experience required, come along and join the fun.
Donard Comhaltas – hold music lessons every Thursday at 8pm in Donard National School. Beginners tin whistle, banjo, concertina, flute, fiddle, accordian, guitar, bodhrán. €5 per lesson. New members always welcome
Dunlavin & District Forum –
Next meeting March 6th in the Imaal Hall at 8pm.
It’s crucial we get new faces to come on board to keep the momentum going. Anybody is welcome to come along to see what we do and to have a say. Our objective is all about making improvements in and around our village for the benefit of all in our community.
The Kube Games Night for Kids
Will take place in the Imaal Hall, Dunlavin – In aid of St. Nicholas of Myra Church Repairs. On Friday March 24th, 2017 at 7.00pm – Admission €10.
Are you up for the Challenge!!!!! There are 4 Aged Categories as follows: –
(8–10), (11–12), (13–14) & (15–16). The Winner of each category will win €100.00.
We need 25 Children for each category (100 children in total).
Each child must get €50 Sponsorship (So go on and get your Nanny, Grandad, your Parents or Family Member to sponsor you) – it’s for a good cause and promises to be lots of fun.

You the parishioners can support this event by placing an advert in our brochure for €20 – it can be for your business or you can wish your contestant good luck in the event– there will be a raffle on the night and if you would like to donate a prize we would be delighted to accept it and last but not least you might buy a ticket to support this event on the night – tickets will be on sale in the parish office and in the local national schools. We will also be selling tickets over a couple of weekends prior to the event after all the Masses – details to follow. Rathsallagh Golf Club
Best wishes to Mary Byrne and her team from’ Made by Mary’ who have taken on the food franchise in Rathsallagh Golf Club . They have been in catering over 20 years… even though they don’t look a day over 21. having been based solely in Dublin for the last 18 years, They have been catering in the locality of Dunlavin and Blessington over the past 12 years so they have decided to branch out in to the beautiful garden of Ireland, and we are lucky to have them working with us. Both Mary and the team look forward to meeting you all and working with you. Menu from breakfast until evening each day at the weekend.

Used Postage Stamps
Please keep your used postage stamps from all your Christmas post for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office anytime. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
