If you are like most lads making a pancake it can be daunting, so we asked Eoin Whelan from the Jailer’s Rest in Wicklow Town for a few tips.
First you need the ingredients 300ml of milk, 100 gms of flour and 3 eggs. Firstly mix the eggs and the milk then whisk in the flower to make the perfect mix, sugar can be an option.
Make sure the pan is hot before adding the oil, empty the excess oil before adding the pancake mix. (Don’t use all the mix in the pan at the same time)
After a minute turn or toss the pancake and there you have it.
For American pancakes use the same method only add an extra 100-150 gms of flour, the mix will be a lot thicker after both sides have been browned in the pan, place them in the oven for 6-8 minutes at 180c.
So no excuses
