Applications are now being taken for this year’s annual parade.

Help to make this year’s parade even bigger and better than ever.

Groups and businesses can sign up now.

 

Parade will start at South Beach Car Park at 12:00 p.m.

Groups gather at 11:30 a.m.

Parade proceeds up Church Road to reviewing stand at St. Patrick’s Church.

Finishes at Church Road/Victoria Road.

 

Awards will be presented in the following category entries:

 

Most Original           Most Colourful                             Best Uniformed

Best Traditional Irish Most Topical                     Most Entertaining

Best Social/Cultural   Best Sports                       Best Commercial

Best Musical            Overall Parade Winner         Best Window

 

The aim of the window competition is to encourage local businesses and organisations to decorate their windows for Ireland’s National Day.  No application is required for the window competition.  All decorated premises will be inspected and judged by an independent panel of judges.

 

Application fee is €20 for Clubs/Organisations;  €40 for Commercial.

Applications should be returned by 24 February, 2017.

ALPHA COURSE ONGOING FOR FIVE MORE WEEKS

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the meaning of life.

It’s fun,  it’s relaxed and totally no pressure.

 

Each sessions begins by chatting with one another over good food.

Then,  watch a video and hear an interesting talk.

Divide into groups and discuss some of the questions relevant to what has been seen.

 

Alpha is for anybody,  any age,  any belief or none.

There is no charge to do Alpha.

Show has moved to the bigger stage at Mermaid Arts Centre.

 

Music journey charting women’s role in progression of the blues.

Featuring Flo McSweeney,  Clara Rose Monahan,  Emma Nico and Jhil Quinn.

 

Ladies in the Blues pays tribute to famous blues women.

These women made a significant contribution to development of jazz and blues.

Male country blues singers were later discovered,  but the ladies got it started !!

Wide range of classic songs in the repertoire.
