Hollywood Community Forum

The Hollywood Community Forum is hosting its inaugural Annual General Meeting on Tuesday the 28th of February at 8pm in the Hollywood Community Centre. The community forum was formed in response to several funding streams available to local community groups and businesses for a variety of community initiatives. These grants are designed to ensure that the benefits of economic recovery are felt in rural towns and villages such as Hollywood.

Alison Keogh Community Development Officer with the Co Wicklow Partnership will be there to give a presentation on Community Grants and how the Partnership can support communities like Hollywood. Alison will be only too happy to answer any questions you have.

The committee is open to all community groups, businesses and interested community activists. Currently members include Tidy Towns, ICA, GAA, Friendship Club, Music under the Mountain, Hollywood School, Hollywood Fair, along with some local businesses and several advocates willing to promote Hollywood.

One can see the importance of community participation in reaching achievable and sustainable decisions which will shape Hollywood into the future. These grants will enable to build our natural resources without destroying everything we love and admire about Hollywood. This is very evident in the sensitive manner the committee explores the above suggestions.

You are cordially invited to express your views, joining or offering you expertise to the committee. Hollywood is unique; the community spirit in Hollywood is praised throughout the country. Our school, musicians, sport, youth, senior and action groups have brought All Ireland awards and achievements back to Hollywood and act as ambassadors promoting our uniqueness.
