Mr Jimmy Olohan, a native of Rathdrum, received an award this week to acknowledge his involvement and commitment to the Rathdrum Development Association over the past 50 years.
Cllr Pat Kennedy welcomed Mr. Olohan and his family and said that Jimmy was a founding member of the Rathdrum Development Association over 50 years ago and that the Association had been central to the community of Rathdrum ever since. “He has given more to Rathdrum than many people could ever hope to achieve in a lifetime and I want to congratulate him for his dedicated service to the community”, he stated.
Cllr Pat Fitzgerald said Jimmy Olohan thoroughly deserved the award and hoped that it would not be too long before he would be back mowing the grass for many more years to come.
Mr Olohan accepted the presentation on behalf of all who had helped him over the years, committee members and family. He thanked the Cathaoirleach and Members of Arklow Municipal District for the honour and stated that the Rathdrum Development Association had been good for Rathdrum and he was glad to be a part of it.
