Motorist has lucky escape as Doris takes down tree

An Arklow man had a lucky escape this morning after a tree fell on his jeep.

The driver was traveling on the Aughrim to Aughavannagh road at around 5.30am when a tree was blown over on to his jeep, crashing down on the drivers side.

Luckily he walked away from the collision but was left shaken after the incident.

A status yellow alert remains in place as storm Doris sweeps the country.
