The awards were sponsored by the County Wicklow Partnership and were hosted by Today FM DJ Philip Cawley.
For the next 14 days Wicklownews.net will post a picture and bio of one of the winning recipients, today we have Chloe Gilmore from Bray.
Chloe was nominated by a lady called Mary Beausong who had never met Chloe but had heard of her through social media and felt that her work and kindness deserved recognition.
Chloe lost a friend in December 2015 and to remember him she set about raising money for Pieta House. She firstly completed the Darkness Into Light Walk in May 2016 and raised a substantial amount of money.
Not content with stopping there Chloe held a fundraising event in her school and sold raffle tickets and awareness ribbons.
Chloe sought sponsorship from local businesses for spot prizes and she raised over €4,500 for Pieta House. Not only did Chloe raise an amazing amount of money for the charity but she also raised a significant amount of awareness for young people and adults on the issue of suicide and depression.
Chloe spread the message that it is OK not to be OK and it is definitely OK to ask for help.
