The group is made up or 2 different youth groups from Kilcoole and Newtown that merged in January 2016 to complete a leadership programme. Both groups have been involved in their respective youth projects since 2008. These particular young people have proved to become extremely positive role models throughout their time in the project. They have been actively involved in trying to enrich the lives of people in their communities. They regularly run fundraisers for North Wickow Senior Citizens, Kilcoole Youth Cafe and volunteer annually at the Kilcoole Thrift Shop Santa visit in their communities. They completed a junior leadership programme which led them to run a “Be Well Week” funded by “Be Well Bray”. They put together a week of activities based on mental health awareness. It was a huge success with an average of 50 young people turning up every night for the week.
This group brought fun and enthusiasm to everything they put their hand to and all their hard work was greatly appreciated by communities in both Newtowntkennedy and Kilcoole.
