A Wicklow Student is to be recognised amongst the best young artists in Ireland for their entries in the Sightsavers Junior Painter of the Year Awards. Their winning paintings were inspired by this year’s competition theme, ‘Framing The Future’. The Sightsavers Junior Painter of the Year Awards is designed to inspire Irish children to express their artistic talent through painting whilst developing an appreciation of the importance and value of their sight.

Sightsavers Junior Painter of the Year Awards Coordinator, Teresa Murray, will visit the school to congratulate and award the child with a certificate for winning the regional prize from the judges.

The children’s painting will be displayed at the award ceremony in Dublin at the end of February where the overall national winners will be announced.
