May he rest in peace.Community GamesIt’s a busy time with community games a lot of activities going on at area county and Leinster levels.Our children are currently doing art and handwriting in the schools and I believe we have budding artists and lovely hand writers. On Monday nights we are training for the upcoming cross country in Avondale on Monday March 27th in Avondale park hosted by Rathdrum community games with Bill Porter.Well done to the children that took part in County Wicklow swimming finals on Saturday. They were great. The County Table Quiz takes place on Friday 24th March in Annacurra community centre with teams competing from all areas.The Leinster finals are continuing too with our U15 girls soccer playing against Kildare in round 1 and our U15 boys badminton meeting Dublin in round 2. Josiane is a visitor from Rwanda. She will be in Ireland for one week with a busy schedule. Tinahely/Crossbridge is the only rural parish she will be visiting while in Ireland…(I invited her to visit with us). Josiane will also visit Tinahely and Crossbridge National Schools. Josiane will be accompanied by Sr. Ancille from Rwanda, Trocaire’s Elisha Kelly and Hannah Evans and we look forward to welcoming them.I would like to extend a warm Tinahely welcome to Josiane to our community. ALL are WELCOME!Josiane was the face of the Trocaire Lent campaign box in 2004. Josiane will be visiting Ireland for the first time to thank supporters for their generosity and to launch the Lent 2017 campaign. Josiane’s father, sister and two of her brothers were killed during the genocide in Rwanda. Josiane’s mother and two other brothers survived but in 2004 they were struggling to make ends meet, living off a small piece of land and constantly facing the threat of hunger.
