Could Birds of Olympus become the next Hozier?

Birds of Olympus

Wicklow’s most exciting new band, Birds of Olympus, need your help in their quest to spread good vibes across the USA, and eventually, the world.

Formed in Wicklow Town, the band consists of former Hybrasil front-man Spud Murphy, Donal Colohan (Guitar), Darin Joye (Guitar), Rory Clarke (Bass), and Derek Byrne (Drums).

Their sound dances on the line that separates classic from modern psychedelic music, there’s something for fans of Pink Floyd and Tame Impala alike.

Birds of Olympus are taking their eclectic sounds across the pond to SXSW Festival in Texas this March after a representative of the festival spotted them at their very first gig at the Hard Working Class Heroes festival last October.

SXSW is the world’s largest music industry showcase – with bookers, labels and agents all shopping for the best new talent 2017 has to offer. Birds of Olympus will be the only Wicklow artists to play at SXSW since Hozier exploded onto the world stage at SXSW 2014. Let that sink in.

Birds of Olympus play alongside fellow Irish artists Picture This and The Academic at The Velveeta Room in Austin Texas, midnight on St. Patrick’s Night.

The band are ready to take on The Lone Star State, and you can help them by following them on Spotify, Facebook, and Twitter.

Birds of Olympus need all the Wicklow support they can get so they can make America groove again.
