Westside Community Games

Westside – are hosting the area final of the Talent competition on Friday, 7th April at 7pm in Dunlavin National School. Cost of entry €2 per child.

Categories are U12 and U16

Solo: Singing, Music, Recitation and Dance (Modern & Disco)

Group: – Singing, Music, Comedy Drama and Dance ( Irish Contemporary, Modern & Disco)

Use Your Local Library

Join your local library and avail of the many free services there. E-Books and E Audio books are available, you can read Digital Magazines and the  newspapers for free. Great selection of children’s books. Opening times in Dunlavin Tuesday 6.30-8.30pm., Wednesday 3-5pm and 6.30-8.30pm, Friday 10.30-1pm and 3pm-5pm, and Saturday 11am-1pm. Closed on Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.

GAA Dinner Dance

The Dunlavin GAA will hold their annual dinner dance on April 15th 2017 in Rathsallagh Golf Club. Tickets €25 each includes 3 course meal and dancing to 2 Guys Live. Contact Louise on 0872236216 or James on 0851274139

Soccer Blitz

A soccer blitz for boys and girls age 8 to 11 years will take place on Sunday March 25th at 1pm in the Soccer field. If this is a success it is hoped to start a club in Dunlavin.


John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.

 Arts Festival

This years arts festival takes place on June 16th to 18th. Next meeting will take place in Rathsallagh Golf Club on March 25th at 12  noon. Anyone interested is invited to attend.

Dunlavin Family Practice

An open morning will be held by the Dunlavin Family Practice for all the community on Saturday April 8th from  10am to 1pm in The Imaal Hall, Dunlavin, Attendees include Dunlavin  Family Practice, Dunlavin & District  Community Forum, First Responders, Irish Heart Foundation, Roche’s Pharmacy, Dunlavin Running Club, Dunlavin Flower Club, Dunlavin Nursing Home, Margaret Burke,Chiropodist,  Caroline Corrigan,  Breastfeeding Consultant, Sarah Jane Gibson, Counselling Service, West Wicklow Fitness Club, Dunlavin Mother and Toddler Group and many more. Come along for a cuppa and a chat and learn about health and well-being services in Dunlavin and surrounding area. Tom Crean Story

Tom Crean the intrepid Antarctic explorer and one of Ireland’s unsung heroes is brought to life in this dramatic and humorous solo theatre dining performance by Aidan Dooley is returning to Rathsallagh House on Monday 24th April 2017. Hear the riveting true stories of Crean’s Antarctic explorations as one of the few men to serve with both Scott and Shackleton and survive three famous expeditions

Yarn Bombing.

 Dressing trees up in yarn, knitted, crocheted or pompoms. Not a fundraising event. A COMMUNITY event. So as many people as possible. The aim of this community project is to decorate the town for  the week of the Arts Festival. Google ICA yarn bombing Newbridge. If  people  are interested there will be a community knitting session in Meitheal on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12 noon and also on Thursdays 3pm to 5pm. All welcome.

Farmers Market

Is anybody interested in a Farmers Market in Dunlavin? The first one will take place on Saturday May 6th 10am to 2pm outside Meitheal Coffee Shop.  No trading allowed, only own grown, own made items. Get sowing and growing, baking and making if you would like to be part of this event.

Church Shop – We now have a lovely selection of items in stock including Confirmation and Communion cards, rosettes, rosary beads, necklaces and pins. All items are available from the Church and the parish office at very competitive prices..

Donard Comhaltas – hold music lessons every Thursday at 8pm in Donard National School. Beginners tin whistle, banjo, concertina, flute, fiddle, accordian, guitar, bodhrán. €5 per lesson. New members always welcome

The Kube Games Night for Kids

Will take place in the Imaal Hall, Dunlavin – In aid of St. Nicholas of Myra Church Repairs. On Friday March 24th, 2017 at 7.00pm – Admission €10.


Are you up for the Challenge!!!!!  There are 4 Aged Categories as follows: –

(8–10), (11–12), (13–14) & (15–16). The Winner of each category will win €100.00.

We need 25 Children for each category (100 children in total).

Each child must get €50 Sponsorship (So go on and get your Nanny, Grandad, your Parents or Family Member to sponsor you) – it’s for a good cause and promises to be lots of fun.

You the parishioners can support this event by placing an advert in our brochure for €20 – it can be for your business or you can wish your contestant good luck in the event– there will be a raffle on the night and if  you would like to donate a prize we would be delighted to accept it and last but not least you might buy a ticket to support this event on the night – tickets will be on sale in the parish office and in the local national schools. We will also be selling tickets over a couple of weekends prior to the event after all the Masses – details to follow. It is also intended to have tea and coffee available for sale on the night along with a shop with lots of goodies.

Used Postage Stamps 

Please keep your used postage stamps from all your Christmas post for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office anytime. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.

1916 DVD
