Former County Manager due in High Court today

Former County manager Eddie Sheehy

Gareth Farrell of East Coast FM news reports the former Wicklow County manager Eddie Sheehy is expected to appear before the High Court today amid claims made last Thursday that he was up to his neck in corruption.

The allegations were made by former authorised council official Donal O’Laoire in a case involving Brownfield restoration limited and Wicklow County Council , over the country’s largest illegal dump found at Whitestown in West Wicklow in 2001.

Justice Richard Humphries directed that lawyers in the case as well as current and former employees of the council and anyone with knowledge about what has been said in court so far, should not have been in contact or have discussed the Allegations with Mister Sheehy before today’s court appearance but the restrictions did not apply to court reporting
