9 young people involved in the Foroige WAY Project in Wicklow town are currently working towards accreditation in a Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action through NUI Galway. On completion of the course, all participants will be eligible to graduate this October.
As part of this course, participants are required to complete a self directed 20 hour community action project.
The young people decided that they would like to run 2 community projects and split themselves into 2 groups.
One group completed a 5 hour clean up of the Hillview Community Centre and surrounding area while the other group organised and facilitated 4 hours of interactive workshops with 24 young people aged 5 to 12 years.
