Awareness Meditation Retreat                                                                                                                                  

Meditation retreats are a life changing opportunity to deepen your meditation practice and enable life balance. Colettle Nkunda, Living Oneness will be teaching this practice in a workshop at the Brockagh Centre on Saturday the 1st of April from 10.30am to 1.30pm. Social Audit

The Glendalough & District Development Association and the Brockagh Resource Centre are compiling a social audit to establish the impact of their services on the wider community. Please take the time to complete the short questionnaire available in the lobby at the Brockagh Centre or request a copy by email from brockaghresourcecentre@gmail.com and return hand delivered or email by Monday 13th March.

Tidy Towns

Our first official clean-up of 2017 takes place at 11am on Saturday 4th March (meet opposite Lynhams). We supply bags and litter pickers and would welcome new helpers. Please wear gloves.

 

An Evening of Tax

Come along and enjoy a light-hearted look at various tax reliefs, tax-planning opportunities, pitfalls etc. in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Thursday 9th of March from 7.30 to 9.30pm, FREE admission. A wide array of topics will be covered including medical expenses, passing on a business / farm during lifetime or by will, owning rental property, selling sites, young trained farmers and much more.

The session will be presented by Mel Kilkenny and Stephen Loughran of LK Tax Ltd.

 

Fun Table Quiz in Aid of Irish Hospice Foundations                                                                            

Come along to the IFH 7th annual Fun Table Quiz  on Friday 10th of March at 9pm in Lynham’s of Laragh. Teams of four people at each table with lots of prizes and nibbles. Contact Tom Miley on 087 4178741 for more information.

Citizens Information

The Citizens Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 am until noon on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The next clinics will take place on Tuesdays 7th and 21st March. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.

 

Rathdrum Rugby Club                                                                                                                                

 It is league final time for the senior women in Rathdrum rugby club following their recent convincing 27-10 victory over Carlow. The Division 1 final will take place in Old Belvedere RFC at 2.30 pm on March 4 th . The women face an impressive Tullamore side in what should be a very lively game and would appreciate all support.

 

Caring for the Future of our Planet                                                                                                   

Exploring the environmental impact of our lifestyles in view of creating a sustainable world for our children. We will explore our topics with short talks, videos and group discussions.  Mon March 6th – The Environmental Story today, Monday March 13th – The Social Consequences of our Choices, Mon March 20th – An Integral  and Sustainable Ecology, Mon March 27th – Committing to a better future. Talks will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8pm on each Monday with facilitators, Enda Mullen CHF, DCO,   Oliver Crotty P.P., Michael Rodgers SPS, Margaret Pendergast RSM, Breda Ahearn CP, and Pat Murphy SPS.

Afternoon Tea Dance                                                                                                                                          

Come along to the Brockagh Centre, Laragh and dance away the afternoon on Sunday 21st May, from 3pm to 6pm with music by The Wicklow Man. Refreshments will be provided. Groups must be booked in by calling 0404 45600 or emailing brockaghresourcecentre@gmail.com.

 

March Car Boot Notice                                                                                                                                   

 To all our customers and stallholders, our Brockagh Centre March Car Boot will be on Sunday March 12th instead of our usual first Sunday (for this month only). We have even more homemade baking delights for 2017 with our usual array of great value items. Vans must be booked in.  Book indoor spaces early but if you would rather be outside just show up in the morning at 8am. Evening Yoga with Viva                                                                                                                                                                       

Viva’s yoga classes are for beginners to advance on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre. Wear comfortable clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night. You can contact Viva on 086 3409629 for more information.

High Intensity Fitness Dane (H.I.F.D)                                                                                                                                                       Just pop in on Wednesday evenings at 7pm to dance your socks off with Adam and the class in cardio exercise dancing, dropping those extra calories. You do not need to be a good dancer or very fit just dance along at your own pace and enjoy the music. You can contact Adam on 083 3057949 for more information.

Walking  group in the Brockagh                                                                                                                

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the walking group with Get Ireland Walking at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. In association with Get Ireland Walking, Wicklow Local Sports Partnership & Brockagh Resource Centre. All ages and abilities are welcome. Happy Days                                                                                                                                                        

Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre(break in July and Aug). Come for a social morning with Crafts, Messy Play, Music and Activities such as teddy bears picnic, sing along song/storytime. We are looking for art and crafts stationary donations or dress up clothing for pre-school age.  and of course light refreshments. Contact Kerry 0404-45600 at the centre for more information.
