The jury at the Wicklow murder trial have found Roy Webster guilty of the murder of Anne Shortall.
After over seven hours of deliberation since Tuesday, he was found guilty of her murder by unanimous verdict.
Justice McCarthy said: “As a matter of law there is one penalty only and I imprison you to life.
Webster shook his head in disbelief when the verdict was revealed.
His sentence was backdated to 7 April 2015, when he first went into custody.
