Sympathy is extended to the Doyle family , Grangebeg on the death of Maura last week. Maura who was predeceased by her husband Eugene, baby Eugene and daughter Maire is mourned by her sons John, Bill, Myles and Peter, sister Nora and many relatives and friends. Maura’s funeral took place in Dunlvin on Tuesday April 18th 2017. May Maura rest in peace.
Best wishes to the new owners of Dion takeaway which will open on Wednesday April 19th at 4pm. All meats and vegetables will be sourced locally. Nice to see new enterprise opening in the town.
Spring is here and as well as our houses, the town and approach roads needs a bit of a spring clean after the winter months. Now is a great time to clean up the roadsides as summer foliage has yet to grow. Plus it’s a great excuse to get out in the fresh air and enjoy meeting up with others on a similar mission!
The National Spring Clean is Ireland’s annual anti-litter initiative. Anyone can get
involved – Dunlavin Tidy Towns are spearheading this year’s spring clean with a tidy up of the approach roads and are asking for your help on Wednesday 19th April at 10 a.m. meeting at the 1798 monument. By working together we can reduce the litter problem in Dunlavin. Anyone taking part will be provided with plastic bags, gloves and litter pickers.
St Nicholas Church will hold their Spring Sale on Saturday April 29th in the Jonathan Swift Parish Hall on Church Road at 2.30pm. All the fun of the fair. Your support would be appreciated.
Dunlavin Inn will have their first outing of 2017 will take place on Saturday April 22nd at 12noon. The society will welcome new members.
Arts festival meeting on April 22nd at 2pm in Rathsallagh Golf Club. All interested in this years festival invited to attend. This years festival takes place from June 16th to 18th.2017.

Dressing trees up in yarn, knitted, crocheted or pompoms. Not a fundraising event. A COMMUNITY event. So as many people as possible. The aim of this community project is to decorate the town for the week of the Arts Festival. Google ICA yarn bombing Newbridge. If people are interested there will be a community knitting session in Meitheal on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12 noon and also on Thursdays 3pm to 5pm. All welcome.
