Mini Fleadh
Donard Comhaltas will hold the 61st Mini Fleadh in the Community Hall on May 2nd . All welcome to this great event.
Day Trip
A bus will leave Dunlavin at 10am on May 6th to visit McCreddin Village, Kilmacurragh Gardens and Avoca, returning to Dunlavin at 7pm. Telephone 087 2879157 if you wish to travel.
Arts Festival
The next Arts Festival meeting will take place in Rathsallagh Golf Club on Saturday May 6th at 2pm. All welcome to attend.
Community Games
Westside Community Games Area Finals will take place Sunday May 7th in Dunlavin GAA grounds. Registration opens at 3pm, races start at 4pm. All ages welcome from U6 to U16. Check out our Facebook page “Westside Community Games” for more details.
Flag Day
The annual Flag Days – for the West Wicklow Day Care centre will be held on 28th, 29th and 30th of April. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Clothes Collection
Supporting Friends of Calcutta – All items of wearable clothing, footwear etc are most welcome and can be dropped into the Parish Centre for collection by Wednesday, May 3rd at 2pm.
A Car Boot Sale
will be held in the Imaal Hall on Sunday, 7th May from 9:30am to 2:00pm (Table must be set up by 9am). A table will be supplied at a cost of €15, to book your table please contact 045-403319 or 087-6293923. All proceeds will go towards the maintenance of the hall.
Best Wishes
Best wishes to the new owners of Dion takeaway which will open on Wednesday April 19th at 4pm. All meats and vegetables will be sourced locally. Nice to see new enterprise opening in the town.
Spring Sale
St Nicholas Church will hold their Spring Sale on Saturday April 29th in the Jonathan Swift Parish Hall on Church Road at 2.30pm. All the fun of the fair. Your support would be appreciated.
Dunlavin Community Playschool
Enrolment places for September are filling up fast so if you know of anybody with a child due to start playschool in September 2017, January or April 2018 can you ask them to contact the playschool on 045-406866 or call in to complete an enrolment form so they can be added to the list.

Rathsallagh Golf Club – offer the freshest ingredients, fantastic taste & quality foods. Open every Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 8am-7pm & Sunday 8am-6pm. Line Dancing – continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic!
Drama Production
Donoughmore and Donard Amateur Drama Society will stage “Cupid Wore Skirts” in Donoughmore Hall on May 4th, 5th, 6th and 13th 14th at 8pm. Ticket Only costing €10. Bookings 0873588583. Donations from the performance will go towards St Brigid’s Hospice, Donard /Dunlavin Meals on Wheels and Donard and Donoughmore National Schools. Your support will be appreciated.
Use Your Local Library
Join your local library and avail of the many free services there. E-Books and E Audio books are available, you can read Digital Magazines and the newspapers for free. Great selection of children’s books. Opening times in Dunlavin Tuesday 6.30-8.30pm., Wednesday 3-5pm and 6.30-8.30pm, Friday 10.30-1pm and 3pm-5pm, and Saturday 11am-1pm. Closed on Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.
Clinic
John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.
Yarn Bombing
Dressing trees up in yarn, knitted, crocheted or pompoms. Not a fundraising event. A COMMUNITY event. So as many people as possible. The aim of this community project is to decorate the town for the week of the Arts Festival. Google ICA yarn bombing Newbridge. If people are interested there will be a community knitting session in Meitheal on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12 noon and also on Thursdays 3pm to 5pm. All welcome.
Farmers Market
Is anybody interested in a Farmers Market in Dunlavin? The first one will take place on Saturday May 6th 10am to 2pm outside Meitheal Coffee Shop. No trading allowed, only own grown, own made items. Get sowing and growing, baking and making if you would like to be part of this event.
Church Shop – We now have a lovely selection of items in stock including Confirmation and Communion cards, rosettes, rosary beads, necklaces and pins. All items are available from the Church and the parish office at very competitive prices..
Donard Comhaltas – hold music lessons every Thursday at 8pm in Donard National School. Beginners tin whistle, banjo, concertina, flute, fiddle, accordian, guitar, bodhrán. €5 per lesson. New members always welcome

To book a court contact the hall caretaker any evening after 7pm in the hall.
Used Postage Stamps
Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office anytime. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
