Massive well done to senior ladies manager Robert Hollingsworth and all involved with the Senior Ladies who had a great win in Arklow: St Patrick’s 2-13 AGB 3-02
Well done to our U16s girls fresh from their recent trip to Manchester, started their first home league match with a draw against a very strong AGB team. A fantastic second half defensive performance by St. Pats saw AGB held scoreless for 31 minutes of the second half.
St. Pats got off to a flying start in the 3rd minute with some neat passing through the midfield and finding Luci Hobbs unmarked who finished to the back of the net. AGB came back strong with an immediate response of a point. AGB continued to push hard and were rewarded with a second point in the 9th minute. St. Pats continued to work hard and some great work up the wing from Luci Hobbs, a great cross field kick found Aine Kavanagh at the back post who fisted the ball over the bar for a well taken score. AGB then added to goal to leave the score at 1-1 to 1-2 at the end of the 1st quarter. St. Pats responded immediately with points from Niamh Caffrey and Michaella Dickinson. AGB finished the half strong with 3 unanswered points to leave the half time score at 1-03 to 1-05. The second half would prove to be a game where both defences would be tested. In the 6th Minute, St. Pats won a free 35 metres from goal. Niamh McSorley stepped up and converted a fantastic effort to bring St. Pats within a point. Both teams pushed for scores in a very close second half. In the 26th minute, St. Pats won a free inside the 21 Metre line. A pressure kick saw Niamh Caffrey kick the free over the bar to level the game. AGB had opportunities to add to the scoring but didn’t convert their chances. In the final minute, a fantastic block by Zoe Armstrong and Siobhan Gorman saw AGB kept out for the final time to leave the final score at 1-05 to 1-05. A great game of football from both sides. St. Pats defence were superb with Lucy Dunne, Sarah Evans and Aisling Walsh putting in a great performance against AGB’s Grace Hurley and Ellen Griffin had a great game in goals.
Our U14 Ladies football team commenced their Division 1 league campaign last Thursday with a long and early trip over to Baltinglass. However, it proved a fruitless journey with the girls suffering a heavy defeat to a good Baltinglass side on a score line of 7-13 to 0-02 (Half Time 3-06 to 0-00) Despite the heavy defeat, the girls never gave up trying and we did have a couple of chances of goals which we failed to take plus we missed a penalty kick early in the first half. Good performances over the hour from Ellen Griffin, Claire Sammon, Aisling Walsh (until injured) , Kirsty Dunne, Lucy Rampersaud, Leah Byrne, Eabha Mooney, Holly Mc Sorley , Leanne O Neill.
Team : Lauren Gregory, Kirsty Dunne , Ellen Griffin, Ava Rawson, Claire Sammon, Julie Phelan, Nadia Lassarri, Jennifer Madden, Ashling Walsh, Leanne O Neill, Katie Shea, Leah Byrne, Christina Ashley, Aoife Caffrey, Holly Mc Sorley.
Replacements : Kim Humby, Ava Vickers, Eabha Mooney, Lucy Rampersaud, Ari Bazigou, Hope Downey, Niamh Kavanagh

Congratulations to Eddie Leonard who is the winner of our Last Man Standing competition. Eddie was one of 4 people who predicted 3 out of the 4 winners of the league finals. However, he was the only one of the 4 to predict Kerry winning the Division 1 final and so he is deemed the winner based on his predicted score having Kerry as the victors.
Thanks to everyone who entered our competition.
We had no Winners for our Match 5 and 4 Lotto Jackpots. Don’t forget to buy your ticket this week. If you are not in you cannot win!
