Teachta Brady will hold a public meeting on Tuesday April 11th at 8pm in the Arklow Bay Hotel.
Teachta Brady said:
“I am currently working on an economic development plan for Arklow and surrounding areas. This is a plan which aims to detail ways in which we can create jobs and build the economy in Arklow.
“Arklow has the highest unemployment rate in the County with 2,245 people on the Live Register at the end of 2016. This makes this work even more crucial in identifying the positive steps we can take to move people off welfare and create sustainable employment.
“In recent weeks, I have held series of consultations with organisations such as the IDA, the Local Employment Office, Enterprise Ireland, and Arklow Enterprise Centre among others.
“While these consultations are continuing I am eager to consult with the public as to their suggestions and ideas on what needs to happen to develop Arklow.
“Arklow needs to focus on its key strengths to maximise its potential and to ensure that the people of Arklow can avail of adequate services.
“I am inviting the people of Arklow and surrounding areas to join me along, with my colleague and Sinn Féin’s Spokesperson for Public Expenditure & Reform David Cullinane TD to contribute to plans for the future of Arklow.
