Last week was a busy week for the Juvenile section. On Monday evening four of the teams travelled for their matches.
The U17 Minor Team were in Blessington where they finished 3-09 to 1-12. This is the U17s last match until after their exams, and we wish the players good luck in their exams. The U15s Team faced a tough Annacurra side and suffered defeat after a hard played match.
The U13s travelled to Carnew where they had a great match and a strong win and finished 8-10 to 4-05. The other U13 Team travelled to Newtown where they were put through their paces by a tough Newtown team, and suffered defeat.
On Wednesday evening the U11 Boys travelled to Eire Og with two teams. Both teams played well against Eire Ogs teams and the boys really enjoyed their games with huge progress to be seen from both teams.
The U15s welcomed Blessington to Pearses Park and after a tough match where they really pushed themselves they were unfortunately defeated.
AGBs Senior Men welcomed Rathnew to Pearses Park on Friday evening. Although the evening was very warm, it did not hinder the AGB men’s spirit. From the first throw in the team got into positions and really got going.
Rathnew found it hard to break into the game as AGB were strong in all areas and rarely allowed too much ball be given their way. A tough match was played out with great football on display from two very strong sides.
The fitness of AGB can clearly be seen as the ball travelled from one end if the pitch to the other.
Goal scorers for AGB on the night were Cormac O Shea(2), Philip Healy (2), Ciaran Hyland (1) and Shane McBride. The final whistle blew and the score was AGB 6-12 to Rathnew 0-15. The Senior Men are out this Saturday at home again to Donard The Glen at 6pm. The Junior B men also host a home match this Thursday against Rathnew. Throw in is 7.30pm.
In Ladies football the Senior Ladies travelled for a challenge match during the week, the ladies fixtures will resume following the completion of the exams. We wish the girls studying for their exams the best of luck.
The U12 girls faced St.Pats at home on Tuesday evening and played a great match. The U10 girls travelled to Ballygarrett on Friday evening for a challenge match and a great display of football was to be seen by all the girls.
