Mass of the Angels

The vigil mass at 8.00 pm on Saturday June 10th in Church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim is a “Mass of the Angels”.  The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all the families in the locality who have lost a baby due to miscarriage, a baby around the time of birth or a child who died young.  Choir will be by Avondale Voices.  All welcome.
Fishing Competition

There will be a fishing competition at the NDAF “Fishing for All” Angling Facility, Rednagh Road, Aughrim on Bank Holiday Monday, June 5th from 12 – 3pm. Prizes – Plaques and Fishing Vouchers for heaviest Senior catch of the day and Junior catch of the day. Summer Camp

Come join our Two Exciting Summer Camps not to be missed.  Venue: Aughrim Community Hall. Date: July 10-14th, Age group: 4-12, Time: 9.30-12 (Art Camp) 12-1 (Activity Camp).  Art in the morning ( Candles with Photo/Sculpture/ T-Shirts Design/ Art & Science Projects & lots more, with art competition on the last day).  Activity camp in the afternoon (Introduction to Tae-Kwon-Do, circuit training, exercise to music & lots more).  Presentation of medals & certs on the last day.  Join us for the Art Camp or Activity camp only or both.  Over 16yrs experience delivering Art Camps to the community & over 20 years Tae-Kwon-Do experience.  For Booking Contact: Trish Murphy (087)6390370 for further information.

Bowling Facility

Aughrim Bowling Facility is now open to all players, groups and anyone interested in taking up the game.  Tuition can be given to the inexperienced.  Please call in to the bowling green on Rednagh Road on Tuesday or Thursday evenings for more information.

Busy Fingers Pre-school & Toddler Group

We are now taking enrolments for September, catering for children from 2-6 years of age.  Free places are available under the ECCE scheme.  For enrolments or any further information please ring 0402 36407 or 087 394 9867.

Active Retirement

There will be no Coffee Morning next week as Monday is a Bank Holiday. There will be a  Committee Meeting on Thursday, June 1st in Lawless’ Hotel at 10.30am.  Our next Group Meeting will be on Tuesday, June 6th at 10.30am in the Sports Complex. This will be the last meeting before the summer break.


Please join us at the Aughrim Town & Country Market, Rednagh Rd, every Saturday from 10 – 2pm.

A big welcome to the new stallholders who have recently joined us adding to the variety of fresh produce on offer including fresh chemical free fruit and vegetables, fresh local meat and farm fresh eggs. You will find home baked bread and cakes, jams & chutneys and freshly cooked fritattas and lots more. There is a great selection of aran knits and handcrafts on offer also.

The numbers: 1, 7, 17 and 23 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday May 22nd.  Match three winners were: Helen Byrne, The Post Office And Jason O’Neill, 2 Croghan View. The jackpot was not won. The jackpot is €8400.
