Active Retirement

A big thank you to Philip & Seán, volunteers with Aughrim First Responders. They gave a a very informative talk on how to react in an emergency and demonstrated CPR  and the use of a Defribulator. The most important piece of information was to make sure we keep our Eircode number beside the phone or affixed to the front door of our homes. Your Eircode number is vital in helping the ambulance service finding your home in the quickest possible time.  Chair yoga continues every Tuesday. Members going to the ‘Indian Delight’ cookery demonstration in Avoca on Thursday May 11th, please meet at Lawless Hotel at 11.20am for car pool. The demonstration starts at 12.00 noon sharp.

Greenan Maze are hosting a Basket making workshop for beginners with Renate Bradbury from Camphill Community, Ballymoney, who has been teaching basket making for over 25 years and assures us that we will go home with a hand-made basket made by very own selves!  This workshop will run from 10am – 5.30pm approx and will cost €85. Book in advance online.  There will be an additional materials charge of €10 which is payable on the day.  It is quite a physical day but with hard work and determination it will be very rewarding and you will have an amazing basket to bring home. Renate brings along two extra tutors who will give you hands on assistance through-out the day if required. Along with the three tutors we only have a maximum of 8 spaces available. Therefore this workshop will book out fast. Tea and Coffee and snacks provided. Please bring a packed picnic lunch.
