Bealtaine Festival kicked off events with music from the talented, Joe McKenna. Joe entertained guests from Laragh and the surrounding areas with friends from Sunbeam House. Joe played popular, favourite jigs and reels with an array of instruments including various whistles, accordion, guitar, bodhran while the audience joined in with percussion instruments.
Joe set the tempo for more activities to come this month:
May 9th – Bowls in the main hall. Free admission.
May 21st , Afternoon Tea Dance with music by The Wicklow Man. Admission €5. Refreshments are provided. ( Groups must be booked into the Tea Dance by calling 0404 45600 or emailing brockaghresourcecentre@gmail.com.)
May 29th, Laurence High School Band from Kanvas, USA. The concert starts at 12pm. All are welcome to attend this free event and any other part of the Bealtaine Festivities in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.
