Fresh appeal launched as anniversary of the discovery of Baby Alannah approaches

Gardai have launched a fresh appeal for information following the discovery of a baby girls body at a recycling facility in Fassaroe last year.

The body of the baby girl, named ‘Alannah’ by Gardai, was discovered by a worker at the Greenstar facility on May 4th 2016.

A post-mortem examination of the body revealed that she had not suffered any deliberate injuries.

Despite an extensive appeal at the time, the girls mother has yet to come forward.

Baby Alannah was buried at Redford Cemetery, Greystones, on 14 May 2016.

A Mass will take place on Thursday evening at the Church of the Holy Rosary in Greystones at 7pm in memory of Alannah’s short life.

Gardai are appealing for the baby’s mother, or anyone with information that can help assist the investigation, to contact them at at Bray Garda Station on 01-6665300.
