Elevation School of Performing Arts
Presents its 10 Year Anniversary show, Something Old, Something New on Saturday June 3rd at 6pm in Brockagh Resource Centre. This is a celebration of everything dance and drama from all of our students across all the campuses. We invite everyone young and young at heart to come along, students and supporters past and present to come along and join in the celebrations with us.
Morning Yoga with Louise
Every Thursday from 10am to 11.15 amin the Brockagh Resource Centre. This is a gently paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. Bealtaine Festival –A month of Celebration of Arts for Older People
Kicked off events with music from the talented, Joe McKenna. Joe entertained guests from Laragh and the surrounding areas with friends from Sunbeam House. Joe played popular, favourite jigs and reels with an array of instruments including various whistles, accordion, guitar, bodhran while the audience joined in with percussion instruments. Joe set the tempo for more activities to come this month: May 9th – Bowls in the main hall. Free admission. May 21st , Afternoon Tea Dance with music by The Wicklow Man. Admission €5. Refreshments are provided. ( Groups must be booked into the Tea Dance by calling 0404 45600 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.) May 29th, Laurence High School Band from Kanvas, USA. The concert starts at 12pm. All are welcome to attend this free event and any other part of the Bealtaine Festivities in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.
Co.Wicklow Older Peoples Network AGM
The Wicklow Age Friendly Strategy 2017 -2022 is being launched at the AGM of the Co. Wicklow Older Person’s Council on May 26th by Minister Simon Harris. The AGM is in the Brockagh Resource Centre, 10am to 3.45. A talk from Brendan Martin, County Librarian and John Gill, Crime Prevention Officer, Wicklow. Go For Life Games – Come and Try Day
In the Brockagh Centre, Laragh on Thursday 1th of June for Shake-Up Day from 11-2pm with coffee from 10.30 and a light lunch at 1pm. This will be an energetic and sociable occasion resulting in the formation of a team to represent County Wicklow at DCU on Sat 10th June from 10-5pm. Laragh Glendalough Community Garden
The garden is now ready for planting and we welcome the community into the garden. Plots are available for those wishing to grow their own vegetables. The polytunnel can be used for growing tomatoes etc. and if you have a small garden but want to grow potatoes or larger vegetables such as marrow we have the space. Call Finian on 086 247 6822.

Blessing of the graves will take place in Glendalough Graveyard, Glendalough on Saturday May 13th at 8pm. In the event of inclement weather prayers in St Kevin’s Church, Brockagh, Laragh immediately after 7.00pm Mass.

Chair Yoga Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Wicklow Man(David Bury 087 272 3962) is on every Tuesday night at the Brockagh Centre at 10 p.m. for a few hours of dancing and socialising.

Tai Chi and QiGong classes are very powerful tools that help to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
