St Patrick’s club notes week May 29th

What a weekend St Patrick’s Hurlers are the Leinster Adult Club Hurling Champions 2017 having got the better of the Dublin team Ballyboden / St Endas in O’Connor Park, Tullamore on Sunday.

After a poor start where we conceded 2-01 in the first 4 minutes the lads made an excellent comeback to lead at half-time 2-6 to 2-5 with Andy O’Brien scoring the 2 goals when moved up to full forward from centre back after 20 min. With a strong second half performance, the lads finished deserving winners with the John (1) Dee O’Brien adding the third goal. There were solid performances from Captain Eoghan O’Mahony in goals, Gerry Connors shored up the full back position when moved there, Shane Doyle & Dale Quinn to the fore in defence. Best for the forwards were Andy & George O’Brien, with excellent support from Ricki Quinn, Bonner O’Brien and George O’Conner. Overall it was a great team effort and great work rate throughout the hour from all. FT St Patricks 3-13 Ballyboden / St Endas 2-10.
