Busy Fingers Pre-school & Toddler Group

We are now taking enrolments for September, catering for children from 2-6 years of age.  Free places are available under the ECCE scheme.  For enrolments or any further information please ring 0402 36407 or 087 394 9867.

Tea/coffee and cake sale

 Aughrim Foroige is holding a fund raiser tea/coffee and cake sale at the Coffee Dock – Aughrim Sports Complex on Saturday June 17th.  The sale will be from 4 -6 pm.. Our Youth Club is for 12 years to 17years old if you would like to sign up and get information leaders and members will be there to help out on the evening. We also have a waiting list for 11 years old to join up when they turn 12 years old. Our youth Club takes place on a Friday evening from 7- 8.30. Hope to see everyone on the evening.

Community Games

The County Wicklow Athletic Finals took place on Saturday June 10th in Shillelagh.  Despite the mixed weather the sky cleared and a wonderful day was had by all.  Our Gold Medal winners now go on to represent County Wicklow at the National Finals in Abbotstown, County Dublin on August 19th & 20th.

Our Gold Medal Winners were: U13 Mixed Relay Team of Sean, Saidhbh, Eoghan and Alice.  U10 200m: Cassie O’Byrne.  Silver Medal Winners were: U6 Mixed Relay Team of Izzy, Cait, Patrick and Jamie.  U8 80m: Colman O’Byrne. U14 100m: Sean Weld.  U16 1500m: Niamh Byrne.  U12 Long: Puck Alex Kavanagh. U14 Javelin: Alice Kirwan.  Bronze Medal winners were: U8 60m Lucy Weld. U10 100m: Alannah Murphy.  U14 100m: Caoimhe Murphy.  U16 100m: Anna Lalor.  U12 600m: Sarah Doyle. U14 800m: Caolin Goetelen.  U16 1500m: Paraic Doyle.  U12 Ball Throw Marc O’Shea.  Congratulations to everyone involved. 

We have a couple more weeks before training breaks up for the Summer.  Thank you to all the support from the Coaches, Parents, and Committee and of course our wonderful children. 2017 has been a great year for the club.
U14 Hurling Feile

Luke O’ Toole’s U14 hurling team travel to Wexford on Friday next 16th June to take part in the All- Ireland Feile na nGael competition. The team has been working hard for the past two months in preparation for the event and the Aughrim & Tinahely clubs would like to wish them all the best in the competition. Both clubs would also like to thank each and every child in their fundraising efforts for the Run the Rock event, and also sisters Claire and Deirdre for running their very successful coffee morning.

The team will be based in Kilmore in South Wexford for the weekend. They play their first two games on Friday evening in Tagoat ,the first match beginning at 5pm. Their third game is on Saturday morning at 11.15 in Kilmore and then it is off to Bree on Saturday evening for either a 3.00pm or 4.30pm start. Should they be successful in Bree they will travel to Carlow Hurling Club in Carlow for either a 10.00am or 11.00am for the All- Ireland Semi- final.

All support would be much appreciated for this great bunch of players.

Market

Please join us at the Aughrim Town & Country Market, Rednagh Rd, every Saturday from 10 – 2pm.
A big welcome to the new stallholders who have recently joined us adding to the variety of fresh produce on offer including fresh chemical free fruit and vegetables, fresh local meat and farm fresh eggs. You will find home baked bread and cakes, jams & chutneys and freshly cooked frittatas and lots more. There is a great selection of aran knits and handcrafts on offer also. Lotto

The numbers: 20, 21, 25 and 27 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday June 5th.  There was no match three or jackpot winner.  The jackpot was not won. The jackpot is €8700.

Benefit Cabaret

A benefit cabaret will be held in Lawless’ Hotel on Saturday June 17th.  Your support will be very much appreciated.  Doors open at 8.30.  There will be three live bands and a D. J. and there will be valuable prizes for the first 200 ticket holders.
