TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

Sunday June 18, the walk will be at Lugnaquilla (Grade A, 20km, 6 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 9.30, or Fenton’s Pub 10.00. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

SUMMER SOLSTICE 5KM WALK

The Hope Cancer Support Centre will hold their annual Summer Solstice 5K Walk  and Ceremony of Light and Healing in Curracloe Beach on Wednesday  21st June at 8pm. Everyone invited  to come along and be part of this very special ceremony and to enjoy a peaceful and serene walk on this beautiful beach.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Congratulations to Pat and Margaret Shortall, Tomacork View on their 50th wedding anniversary.

SPLIT THE POT

The winner of Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew Split the Pot was Breda Murphy winning €275, tickets available from the school or local shops.

WALKING CLUB

Carnew walking club meet every Thursday evening at 7.30pm at Carnew Training and Development Centre, everyone welcome to come along.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the GAA lotto, numbers were 5,16,23,27, lucky dips were Eamonn Hogan, The Lodge. Karen Matthews, Soldiers Bench. Megan Driver, c/o Willie. Kathryn Keogh, c/o Treacy’s. The next draw is 19th June in The Lodge and the jackpot is €6,600.

Congratulations to Eugene and Coleen Clune on the birth of their son recently.

BOOK LAUNCH

Local man Paddy Behan, Shillelagh who has spent a life time working on Coollattin Estate and in the service of the Fitzwilliam Family, will be launching his book of memoirs titled “Part of this Place” in Coollattin Golf Club on Thursday 22nd June at 8pm. Copies will be on sale on the night or afterwards at this home at Corner House, Shillelagh. All welcome to come along on the night.

YOGA CLASSES

Carnew Community Care will host Siobhan Rice who will give two taster yoga classes on Tuesday 13th June 2017, an 11am class chair Yoga class will be for those in their 70’s and 80’s and a floor (mat) Yoga class at 11.45am for those over 50.

Siobhan has many years experience of teaching yoga. her approach appreciates that everybody is different and that people come to yoga with different abilities and needs. Siobhan adapts to suit individuals and integrates yoga postures and movement, breath and attention for better physical and mental health and enhanced awareness. Classes for all breeds of sheep also all Ireland pair of cheviot ewe lambs. Pony classes for children of all ages. Poultry classes new this year.
