Gardai have preserved a second scene in the Wicklow mountains following the discovery of human body parts.
Body parts have now been discovered on the Military road at Glenmacnass, the scene has been sealed off to allow a forensic examination.
On Saturday evening the torso of a person was discovered on the Military road close to Glencree.
It is understood the body parts are from the same person.
Superintendent Pat Ward of Bray Garda Station said investigation gardaí believe the person met their death by sinister means but the result of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
An appeal for information has been issued, and gardaí said that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area can contact Bray Garda Station on 01-6665300.
Military Road is closed between Sally Gap Cross through to Laragh until tomorrow (12th).
