Aughrim Juvenile Gaa Club
For the 2nd week in a row, Aughrim juvenile GAA hosted a Go Games Blitz, this time it was football and teams from Annacurra, Carnew, Coolboy and Hollywood were hosted on a glorious Saturday morning.
14 teams in all took part and the Community field was thronged as close on 140 kids played their hearts out for their respective clubs. A big thank you must go to everyone who helped out on the day to make it a great success. The referees. Ray, Eoin, Declan, Gavin, Sean & Shauna, the ladies who kept the tea & Coffee flowing, including Treacy, Joanne, Caroline, Michaela & Yvonne and the coaches, including Shane, Padraig, Mervyn, Pauric, Nialll & Paul but the most important of all were the kids that turned up to play the game, these young U7’s & U9’s continue to improve each time they play, so keep up the good work.
The U11 footballers had no game last week, the U13’s had a very important win over St Nick’s, with a few players missing they worked their socks off to win on a score of 4-03 to 3-03, to remain top of their division.
The U15 Derry Gaels also kept up their winning form beating a well drilled An Tochar team on a score of 1-10 to 0-07.It was great to see Dylan Rochford make his come back after being out for 3 months through injury, we only hope now that we will have Oisin Dunne and Euan Harper back with us shortly.
This week hurling takes center stage, the U11’s play Glenealy on Wednesday night in Aughrim.
Luke O’ Toole’s U15’s also take on Glenealy, while the U13’s play Kilcoole.
On Friday night the U7’s and U9’s travel to Stratford for a hurlin blitz. Best of luck to all teams.
