Dunlavin notes week July 3rd


Sympathy to the family of Paddy Doran, (formerly Grangebeg) who passed away last week in Tramore. Paddy is mourned by his wife Eileen, sons James, Patrick and Sean Paddy’s funeral took place in Tramore on Thursday June 28th 2017. May Paddy rest in peace.


Maureen Dennis Memorial Set Dance.

Thanks to everyone who supported the recent Set Dance in The Imaal Hall in aid of St. Brigids Hospice. The amount raised was €1,680. Special thanks to Syl and Liz for providing the music.



Sympathy is extended to Kathleen Byrne and family, Kilcullen Street, Dunlavin on the death of Kathleen’s daughter in law Mary last week. Mary was wife of Seamus and died suddenly in South Africa. May Mary rest in peace.



Summer Gala Concert in aid of Camphill, Grangebeg will take place on July 8th in McAuley Place in Naas at 8pm. Performing will be Gormanstown Choir, Dara Quartet, Peter Maloney, Ella Fallon on organ. Tickets €15, concession €12. Tickets available from Berney’s Chemist, Kilcullen, Meitheal, Dunlavin , Whelan’s Chemist Dunlavin. Promises to be a great night’s entertainment.


Dunlavin Community Playschool

 Enrolment places for September are filling up fast so if you know of anybody with a child due to start playschool in September 2017, January or April 2018 can you ask them to contact the playschool on 045-406866 or call in to complete an enrolment form so they can be added to the list.



Sympathy is extended to Dermot Gillespie and family Griffinstown on the death of Dermot;s brother Terence. .Terence’s funeral took place in Old Leighlin on Wednesday June 28th 2017. May Terence rest in peace.


Line Dancing

Line Dancing – continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic!

Great selection of children’s books. Opening times in Dunlavin Tuesday 6.30-8.30pm., Wednesday 3-5pm and 6.30-8.30pm, Friday 10.30-1pm and 3pm-5pm, and Saturday 11am-1pm. Closed on Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.



John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.


Church Shop – We now have a lovely selection of items in stock including Confirmation and Communion cards, rosettes, rosary beads, necklaces and pins. All items are available from the Church and the parish office at very competitive prices..


Used Postage Stamps 

Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
