Person airlifted from Bray head

Coast-guardEmergency Services including the Coast Guard and Rescue helicopter were called to Bray head this afternoon.

One person was airlifted to hospital in what was described as a difficult operation.

The extent of the person’s injuries are unknown at this time.

Greystones and Wicklow Units tasked to a male who fell while running on Bray Head.

On arrival, our team Paramedic assessed the casualty and immediately requested an Advanced Paramedic from HSE NAS for pain relief.

Due to the location of the casualty and his injuries, Rescue 116 was requested for evacuation. Once the AP had given the casualty medication for his pain, Greystones Coast Guard Unit assisted with packaging the patient and moving the patient to a location where Rescue 116 could winch from.

The Hi-line was manned by a member of the unit while Rescue 116 removed the casualty to Hospital. The Unit was then stood down and returned to station.
