Gardai apprehended two asylum seekers last Monday afternoon at a County Wicklow golf club.
The two men jumped from the trailer unit of a truck while the driver was making a delivery in the Roundwood area at around 4pm.
It is understood the men from Afghanistan, boarded the truck which had a curtain type trailer in Cherbourg, France before entering Ireland through Dublin port.
Gardai carried out a search of the area and apprehended the men at Djouce Golf Club.
They were taken to Wicklow Garda Station and transferred to Dublin, where their asylum status is being processed.
