Aughrim Juvenile GAA
The U11 Football Ball team take pride of place this week as they won the Group 4 League with a comprehensive win over 2nd place team Michael Dwyers. The team never let Dwyers settle in to the game and ran out comfortable winners on a score of 8-15 to 2-03. The team went through the league unbeaten and now look forward to the Mini Festival games over the coming weeks.
The panel of player are: A Evans, J Byrne, J Fanning, D Fox, A Galligan Howes, S Healy, T Healy, C Keogh, M Keogh, R Kinsella, J Lambert, C McGuckian, C O’ Brien, C O’ Connor, L O’ Neill, M O’ Shea, C O’ Toole, D Rice, L Toomey, C Wilson.
The U11 hurlers lost out to a strong Arklow Rocks team in their last game of the league on a score of 6-04 to 1-07, The Rocks pulled away with 3 goals in the last 5 minutes, The Aughrim team have a lot to be proud of with their performances so far this year and with a full panel to pick from will be a match for any team as they too take part in the Mini festival games in the coming weeks.
The U13 Football team bounced back from their defeat to AGB with a good win over Michael Dwyers on a score of 5-05 to 2-12, they play Bray in their last league game and then play in the B Championship against St Pats, An Tochar, AGB and St Kevins. the U13 hurlers also bounced back from their defeat to Kilcoole with a comprehensive win over St Pats, they have drawn Tomacork, Avondale Parnells, Glenealy and Bray in the Championship.
The U15 Derry Gaels Football team continue on their wiinning ways, they beat Blessington in a very physical game on a score of 1-10 to 1-06 and last week beat An Tochar in an excellent team display on a score of 5-14 to 2-06. the team are on top of the Div 2 league and are playing some great football at present.They play Rathnew and Clara Gaels in the B Championship.
The U15 Luke O’ Toole’s team beat Glenealy but went down to Tomacork in the league, there is no doubt that this team can contend for championship honours if they can get their full panel of players out in the coming weeks. They play Tomacork, Glenealy and Avondale Parnells in the Championship.
The U17’s Luke O’ Toole’s team play Bray at home on Wednesday night and are grouped with North Wicklow Gaels and Michael Dwyers in the championship.
Best of luck to all teams in the coming weeks, as we face in to the business end of the season. Support from parents, family members, friends and club members would be much appreciated, to shout all these teams on, there is no better way to spend an evening than to watch a juvenile match over in the Community Field.
