Planning permission for the new Community National School (CNS) in Charlesland has been granted by Wicklow County Council this week. The 3-stream primary school has designated as a rapid build by the Department of Education and is planned to be completed by the end of 2018.
Cllr. Jennifer Whitmore, Chair of the Board of the CNS, has welcomed the decision. “This is a big milestone for our school and I am looking forward to working with the parents, staff, KWETB and the Department to deliver a fantastic new primary to Greystones. It’s great to see how far the school has progressed in the space of a couple of years and it already has become a big part of the Greystones community. It’s an exciting time for the school and I very much look forward to the next phase.”
Rory Kinane, Principal, said “We are thrilled that our new building is on the way and can’t wait to continue the Greystones CNS journey in what will be a state of the art school when completed. While we have been very happy in the Rugby Club, we look forward to moving to our permanent home in Charlesland once the build is complete.”
