Arklow library will switch on Culture Night with a packed programme of events on Friday (22nd September).
New Music Generation Wicklow will host Bodhran Workshops for children of all ages at 3pm and 4pm.
The evening programme will start at 6pm in the research room with local author, Anthony Cannon, reading from his book “Boom Town” which is set in Arklow at the time of the Kynoch munitions factory explosion.
A second author event will feature Lisa Harding who will discuss her book, “Harvesting”, in the library Reading Room. “Harvesting” was published earlier this year to great acclaim.
Women of the World, an Arklow based intercultural community group, will display their wonderful quilt and talk about the inspirational stories that brought it into being.
Once again this year, Arklow Library is delighted to host Sacred Sounds who will serenade everyone with a selection of tunes from their “East Meets West” programme.
All events are free, but it is advisable to book in advance at arklowlibrary@wicklowcoco.ie or by phone at 0402 39977.
