Wicklow’s iconic Grand Hotel is due to undergo a €300,000 – €400,000 investment and refurbishment programme under the banner of Firebreak Hospitality, owned by prolific hotel operator Adrian Shanagher.
Adrian Shanagher has been involved in the revitalisation of many high-profile hotels around the country in the last number of years, including; The Morrisson Hotel, Powerscourt Hotel, Mount Wolseley, Mount Juliet, Clonmel Park, Citywest Hotel, Killsahee House Hotel, Bellinter Hotel and Aherlow House Hotel.
The employment of all 52 employees of the hotel has been secured and all future bookings at the hotel will be honoured by Vesta Hotels Limited, the company through which operations will be conducted.
Speaking to WicklowNews.Net, Shanagher said, “The Grand Hotel has been a feature of Wicklow town for well over a century. We are delighted to be at the helm for the next chapter of its life. We intend to revitalise and improve the Hotel in a number of respects over the coming months. We hope to reposition the Hotel as an important amenity and asset of the local community.”
