Halloween 2017 at Coolattin House

In an exciting joint venture between the Coolattin House Committee and the South Wicklow Drama Festival Committee Coolattin House will be open on Saturday and Sunday

28th & 29th October, 2017 for halloween tours for both adults and children. Tours will take place for Children Age 6 years and upwards from 3 – 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The children’s guided tour of the house and grounds will include Story Telling, a Puppet Show and fun crafts will cost just €10.00 per person with

All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.

Adult Guided Tours will take place from 8.30 – 10.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday

All visitors will have an opportunity to check out the nooks and crannies and experience the hidden secrets of the house and to meet some of the fascinating characters who are coming along to bring the house to life for this one spooktacular weekend.

Adults will have an added extra on the Sunday night with Dracula’s Ball taking place from 10 till late on the Sunday night. We would encourage people to get into the spirit of the occasion and come to Dracula’s Ball in Fancy Dress, but of course this is purely optional. There will be a prize for the best dressed.

Adult Tour: €10.00 – Dracula’s Ball: €10.00 and adults can go on tour and attend the ball for just €15.00. Booking (Essential) Open 1st of October (Watch this space for booking details)

 

SPLIT THE POT

Congratulations to our first Split the Pot winner of this new school year – Brendan Lawrence who won €272 – many thanks for your support, tickets can be purchased from local businesses. Good luck to all in next weeks draw.

GAA LOTTO

Carnew GAA lotto was not won, numbers were 13,19,25,26, lucky dips were Nick Skelton, The Glen. Con McCea, c/o Willie Collins, Tomas Kavanagh, Ballycarnew, Damien Osborne. The next draw is 25th September in Sinnotts, tickets only €2 from players or local shops and the jackpot is €8,000.

PADDY BEHAN’S BOOK Part of this Place

Copies of Paddy Behan’s memoirs “Part of this Place” are now available in Victor Young’s, Main Street, Carnew and from Paddy’s home in Corner House, Shillelagh.

Music Lessons  
Tinahely CCÉ offers traditional music and singing lessons to children of all ages. We teach tin whistle, flute, accordion, concertina, guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and bodhran in a very relaxed atmosphere. Classes take place every Friday evening in Coolfancy National School commencing at 6:30pm. The new term is now underway and you can join us any time. Call 087 6284848for further details.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB 
On Sunday September 24, the walk will be at Blackstairs Mountain (Grade B+, 12km, 4.5 hours) meeting in Bunclody at 10.00. On Sunday October 1, the walk will be at Croganmoira (Grade B, 12km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.00. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

BINGO

The next bingo is on Sunday 24th September at 2.30pm in St Brigid’s Hall, Carnew, all welcome.

CARNEW DAY CENTRE

The Social afternoon re-commences on Wednesday from 2pm – 4.30pm with bingo, delicious afternoon tea and activities. Monday night id indoor bowls, Tuesdaynights is whist, enquiries to 0539426510.

WALKING CLUB

Carnew walking club meets every Thursday night at 7.30pm at Carnew Training and Development Centre, everyone welcome to come along and walk at your own pace.
