Hollywood notes week September 18th


Wicklow County Council Primary School Road Safety Art Competition

Congratulations to Erin Kelly from Hollywood N.S, Erin picked up first prize in the 2nd class section of the Wicklow County Council Primary School Road Safety Art Competition.

 Ms Linda McDonald, Road Safety Officer, presented the winners  with their prizes on Thursday (14th September) during the Laragh stage of the tour.   

The winners were:

  • 5th Class – Ciara Kelly from St. John’s NS Arklow
  • 4th Class – Ava Breen from Our Lady’s NS Rathdrum
  • 3rd Class – Paula Kowal from St. John’s NS Arklow
  • 2nd Class – Erin Kelly from Hollywood NS
  • 1st Class – Taylor O’Neill from Our Lady’s NS Rathdrum 

Each winner was presented with a plaque and some art materials and the two overall winners – Ciara Kelly and Ava Breen – received cycling jerseys.   Mr Mark O’Doherty from Down Syndrome Ireland also presented the five winners with a jersey on the day.

Ms McDonald congratulated the winners and thanked their teachers for participating in the competition, which has helped to highlight the importance of safe cycling to the students.


Pilates Classes

Set Dancing

Will resume on Thursday 21st September at 8.15pm in the G.A.A. centre. New members welcome.


Hollywood Whist

The next Hollywood Whist will take place on Monday 25th September at 8.00pm in the Hollywood Centre. New players are more than welcome to come along.


Kidz in Theatre

The Hollywood No Name Club

The Hollywood No Name Club will continue to meet every Wednesday night at 8.00pm until 9.30pm. The club caters for 15-18 year old teenagers who wish to have fun with likeminded club members. Come along and see what it is all about.


Hillbillies Football

Friendship Club

Acorn’s Pre School Hollywood

Hollywood Bowls

The Club bowl every Tuesday & Friday nights in The Hollywood Centre between 8-10pm. New Members’ are always welcome, so come along and see what it is all about, it is a great way to spend the Winter nights


Music Under The Mountain

Dunlavin Scout Group

Hollywood GAA Lotto Results for Thursday 14th September – Numbers drawn: 9,19,22,26 There was no winner of the Jackpot. The €50 winners were : Stephen Kearney, Kevin Conneff, Carmel Tutty. Please be careful as to whom you allow into your home as there are Conmen and Women calling to houses in the locality. Be alert at all  times, if in doubt contact the Guards in Blessington 045 865202. Also it is important to look out for each other in our Neighbour Hoods and be vigilant at all times. Check in on your elderly neighbours. Report to the Guards if you suspect anything suspicious. 045/865202 or 999..

Hollywood Bingo

Bingo takes place in the Hollywood Centre every Thursday night at 8.30pm.

We have two jackpots – €3,350 and €7,000 to play for each week.


Doctor ‘s Clinic

The Doctor’s Clinic  will be held on the first and third Thursday of each month from 9.30 -11.30am
