St Pat’s club notes week September 11th

The club is delighted to announce that we have purchased a green field site of 30 acres on the Greenhill road. This development will secure the long term future of St. Patrick’s G.A.A. Club and its future members for generations to come. The Club looks forward to sharing our plans with all our members and our supporters on the revised date of Friday the 15th of September at 8.30pm in the clubhouse.

Hard luck to all involved with our Senior footballers who on a windy day in Joule Park Aughrim will be disappointed with the opportunities missed. Against the wind in the first half a well worked goal by Padge McWalter gave a glimmer of hope for the second half. HT St. Patricks 1-01 Blessington 0-09. Chances came and went with three goal attempts not finding the net leaving the final score: St Patricks 1-07 to 1-10

Team: Colm Byrne, Wayne Doyle, James Kavanagh, Padraig Higgins, Ciaran  Doyle, Padge McWalter (1-00), John Crowe, Dean  Healy, Eamonn Wolfe, Shane Murley, Conor Ffrench, Stephen Duffy (0-01), Brian Doyle, Johnny Delahunt, Tommy Kelly (0-03)
SUBS: Jordan Petticrew (0-01), Shane Doyle

Hard luck to Barry, BA and all involved with the Junior A Footballers in the championship quarter final against Valleymount in Aughrim. A great recovery from the lads after an early goal from Valleymount the lads owned the last 15 minutes of the first half  to reduce the deficit at half time to 2. St Patricks 0-05 Valleymount 1-04. The lads tried hard in the second half against the strong but could not make the break through required. Final Score St. Patricks 0-05 Valleymount 1-09

This year the club is running a draw to support the fundraising drive required to develop a new pitch at our new Greenhill Road field. Tickets are €50 each and there will be a monthly draw at the end of September, October & November. Prizes are generous and there will be a special draw on the new pitch information night for all tickets sold up to that point.

The club is holding a special information evening where we will lay out plans for the new development. I am urging all members to attend the new pitch launch event which will be held in the clubhouse on September 15th at 8.30pm. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about our plans for what is the most exciting and significant development in the club’s history.

All funds from this draw will go to the new pitch and we will use this as the main fundraising event this year for the new development, so it is vital for the success of this project that you give as much support as you can.
