Internet Problems

Since hurricane Ophelia this correspondent has internet problems. We are told they will be fixed in the coming week.  Apologies to anyone whose items did not appear in the local notes in last week. 

Christmas Fair 2017

On Sunday December 10th the well established Christmas Fair organized by the Aughrim Business Association will take place in Lawless’ Hotel from 11am to 5pm. Many small local businesses present their crafts and services and attract a lot of customers. Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes
Learn gentle flowing healing movements that relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility.  Beginners Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes every Wednesday evening from 7 – 8 pm &  Friday Mornings 10 – 11 am @ Aughrim Sports & Leisure Complex.  Cost € 80 for a block of 8 classes.  For enquiries or to book a place call Ann Martin 087/6081219. Tidy Towns Bowling Facility

Indoor Bowling 7pm – 9.45pm every Tuesday starting on  November 2nd at Aughrim Bowling Facility, The Pavilion, Rednagh Road.  All Welcome

Mass of Remembrance

Mass on Saturday evening 18th November at 8pm in Church of the Sacred Heart will be celebrated to remember members of our parish who have passed away in the last year.  Anyone wishing to have a family member remembered at this mass should leave the name in the sacristy.

Indoor Bowls

Indoor Bowls is back in action in the Community Hall (beside Londis) on Sunday and Monday nights. If there is anyone interested in joining please come along at 7 pm . on either night or both.

Active Retirement.

Great News! The latest edition of Aughrim Times, produced by Aughrim Active Retirement is now on sale in all local shops at €2.50 per copy. The magazine contains many items of local and historical interest. Please support the Active Retirement Association by buying a copy as this is our only means of fund raising each year.  Pottery Classes will continue each Monday while Chair Yoga continues each Tuesday.  The plans for our trip to ‘My Fair Lady ‘in The National Concert Hall on November 18th have been completed.

Lotto

The numbers: 1, 4, 11 and 24 were drawn in the sports club lotto on Monday last October 23rd.  Match three winners were: O’Brien Grandchildren, c/o Rory, Marion Canavan, Avoca, D & E c/o Eithne and Brendan Byrne, c/o BB. There was no jackpot winner.  The jackpot is €2850

Market

Please join us at Aughrim Town & Country Market at The Pavilion, Rednagh Road, every Saturday from 10am – 2pm. We have a wide variety of local produce on offer and our stallholders are more than happy to offer free tasting where possible. Also, enter a free weekly draw when you make a purchase. You will find fresh local meat and free range eggs, chemical free fresh fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread and cakes, jams, marmalades and chutneys, freshly cooked frittatas and lots more.  Our craft section offers lovely gift ideas, jewellery and aran knits.
