Mary Treacy would like to thank Avoca ICA for their recent cake sale for ongoing projects In Moldova. The sale raised the sum of €581.00. This money will be used to break the cycle of Institutionalization in Moldova, giving those institutionalized from birth the opportunity to live independent lives away from the bleak environment that has been their life for far too long.
This project is already underway and will do much to empower Moldova’s most vulnerable people.
Avoca ICA is a shining light for all in the work that they do for the most defenceless both at home and abroad. A sincere thank you also to all those who supported`and contributed to the cake sale in any way. On behalf of Moldova’s most vulnerable people, a huge, warm and sincere thank you.

Avoca Courthouse
Like to give a little joy and love to a needy child this Christmas? TEAM HOPE CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX APPEAL gift does just that. We here at the Avoca Courthouse are hoping to get a few boxes to send over, all you have to do is choose a boy or a girl, age group 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14 years old, get your shoe box wrapped (box and lid separately).
To get your box to your chosen child please include €4 in an envelope taped to inside of your lid. Items allowed are – items for school pens, books etc – wash items soap, tooth brush and paste etc NO liquid – small clothing items hat, scarf, socks etc and don’t forget a treat toys, games, teddy, small torch or maybe some sweets.
If anyone would like any more information or interested in sending a box call into Avoca Courthouse. Closing Date to get your finished shoeboxes back to us is Thursday 9th November 4pm. Every child deserves a gift at Christmas!!!
Household hazardous waste collection at Avoca Recycling Centre
The household hazardous waste collection will take place at the Avoca Recycling Centre on Saturday the 28th of October from 9.30am to 1pm only. Bring along your old paints solvents pesticides adhesives caustic sodas drain cleaners detergents oven cleaners inks and resins etc to the above collection.
